“After intensive review, I am convinced that she and her son have absolutely not done anything illegal and even improper with respect to the solar energy business of the latter,” matod niya. “At worst, Leandro has been innovative and out-of-the-box as an entrepreneur. That should be rewarded, not punished.”
“It bears emphasizing that no formal charge has been filed against Senator Legarda or Representative Leviste,” matod niya. “Yet the Ombudsman’s public pronouncements convey the unmistakable impression that liability has already been assumed, notwithstanding that the matters involving them remain at the preliminary-investigation stage.”
“The Senator does not own, run, or take part in Solar Para sa Bayan Corporation (SPBC) or any Solar Philippines company. There are no corporate documents showing her as a shareholder, officer, or beneficiary,” matod niya. “Saying she’s connected to the business only because she’s the mother of a private businessman is pure invention. Being a parent and being a senator does not in any way prove she benefited, acted improperly, or committed a crime.”
Matod niya, adunay sukaranang prinsipyo nga dili angay mawala sa politikal nga diskusyon.
“Responsibility is personal,” matod niya. “Senator Legarda should not be shielded from scrutiny because Leviste is her son. But neither should motherhood become evidence against her.”
“SPBC is one corporation. Other Solar Philippines companies are separate entities. A congressional franchise is different from a renewable energy service contract. Both a service contract and a franchise are not given government funds,” matod niya.
“Leandro introduced new ideas and approaches to fast-track the energy transition, and there may have been policy gaps that prevented the successful implementation of some of those ideas. But that is not a criminal act. He should be praised, not punished, for that. In the same way, he should be lauded and not harassed for his crusade against corruption,” gipasiugda ni La Viña.
Gisalikway usab niya ang sugyot nga napildi o napahimuslan ang publiko o ang gobyerno.
“The government was not put at a disadvantage because of Leviste’s innovations. His solar businesses did not deprive the Filipino of renewable energy. It is well documented that Leviste’s solar business had also contributed additional solar power to our energy mix. That he has profited from that as a businessman is not criminal,” dugang niya.
“The timing speaks for itself,” matod niya, nga naghulagway sa maong pattern isip “classic lawfare, the weaponization of the law for political purposes.”
“What is going on is clearly political persecution,” matod niya. “It has always been wrong. And it must stop now.”
